Lighting

I got the opportunity to work with a local professional theatre college for their production of All Shook Up, of which many of the cast have since earned places at top UK performance universities and agencies. I joined quite late into the production process and therefore was unable to assist with pre-production, so I came to the day of the get in with no LX plan or notes of the show, so it was completely from scratch. We managed to create a basic rig and, unhappy with the provided LX desk I opted to use my own Chamsys system which allowed for a bit more flexibility with fixtures, unfortunately due to time constraints some fixtures remained grouped on the same address. I’m happy with what I was able to create without full flexibility and without an LX plan, however there are of course many things I would have done differently, especially given the opportunity to do pre-production.

Although I was on lighting, I also had other crew based duties, such as being a general tech across sound, lighting and stage during the production week, with some set movement during the intervals for the show.
