Kimbolton Fireworks

After helping out at Kimbolton Fireworks in 2021, supporting both the sound and lighting, I was asked by the production company Concept Leisure if I’d like to run the lighting. Alongside me was Matt from 1ONE0 who was running the sound and supplied some of the lighting and sound equipment. Using a model of the stage, and the fixtures available to me I created 3 designs, with minimal differences between them such as fixture swaps and small position changes. Between the production company, myself, and Matt we decided on a concept and I drew up all the plans.

The day itself was long, arriving in Kimbolton at 8am, and taking the majority of the day to set up the sound and the lighting until around 5pm when we were able to start soundchecks. Due to being located on school grounds, we couldn’t make any noise during the school day. It was somewhat bizzare being located on stage with the band, however considering that the previous year the tech was to the side of the stage with no cover, I was certainly glad of the decision. I was really pleased with how the lighting looked, despite my Chamsys desk playing up with a temperamental delayed input glitch.
